Welcome to Geopower of America

Geothermal Power of America, Inc. is a Nevada corporation that has been formed to develop and produce electricity from geothermal sources. The company plans to build electric generating plants in the Western United States and elsewhere in the world.

The Company has contracted fro two geothermal sites, one in Northern Nevada and one in Southern California.

Electricity produced from geothermal sources provides an almost infinite source of power for this purpose. As no oil, gas or coal is burned the production of energy does not contribute to pollution or global warming. It is the most eco-friendly source of power on earth. There are many areas that may be exploited for this purpose. Recent federal and state legislation have mandated that power companies purchase a certain minimum of their electricity from eco-friendly sources such as wind, solar and geothermal. Electric demand is rising and is expected to continue to rise through the rest of this century. It is expected in time the use of oil to power ard will be phased out in favor of vehicles powered by electricity. This will require additional sources of energy.

Electricity is produced by tapping underground sources of super heated water. Some water may be as hot as 700 degrees Fahrenheit. As water turns to steam at 212 degrees it flashes instantly to steam when released from the pressures deep in the earth. The superheated water is kept in its liquid form by the pressure that contains it deep in the earth. Once the water is turned to steam and powers a turbine, the cooled water in returned to the earth. This allows the water to be conserved and in time to be reheated. This process is ecologically friendly and does not pollute the atmosphere nor contribute to global warming.

The production of electricity in this manner is not dependent on any natural phenomena such as wind or sunny skies. The generating plant can run at 95% efficiency and produce electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
