In his State of the Union Address on January 29, 2008, President Bush, announced the Federal Government is increasing its budget to provide capital for renewable energy projects. This increase will almost double the amounts available to companies engaged in producing electricity from renewable sources. GPA is filing the applications necessary to receive a portion of these federal grants.

On June 16, 2008, the U.S. Department of Energy made a news announcement regarding an Investment of $ 90 million dollars to the Advanced Geothermal Energy and Research Dept. They will give grants to Geothermal Companies such as ours, to help father development

California is scheduled to vote on Proposition Seven on the November, 2008 ballot. This proposition, if approved by California voters, will require utilities to increase their purchase of electrical energy from renewable sources such as wind, solar and geothermal to the level of 33.35% of their total purchases by 2015. They currently purchase about 5% of their energy needs from renewable sources. The balance of the energy we use today is produced by carbon based power plants such as coal and gas. This contribute to global warming and increases carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
